Essay 2
This essay asks you to consider the social role or roles of science. The essay should be 3 -5 pages, and should address a scientific issue which has social consequences, such as
- Stem cell research
- Genetic engineering of plants or animals
- Computer security
- Biological weapons research
- Global warming / Climate change
- Science education
The essay should be persuasive; choose a topic you have some opinion about, and try to persuade your audience. By definition, your audience will be those who hold a different opinion on the topic, so you should consider who these readers are and why they disagree.
