Threats:Cyber bullying has been on the rise recently. It is when "a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones." When a child comes home from school bullies they are still forced to face some more bullying online. A recent and popular case is of Megan Meier. She was tricked into believing that she made a new friend on myspace.com. Her new "friend" then calims that he did not want to be friends with her because he heard she was not nice to her friends. Megan's mom found her dead by the new morning after she commited suicide by hanging herself in her closet. In realiy, her new friend was her ex-friend's mom. This is serious issue that people are starting to realize. Just because it's "online" and not real, doesn't mean it's not a big and dangerous issue. |
