NBC was one of the first major networks to begin making their shows available to their viewers on the Internet. Although NBC has made some of their most popular shows available at the click of a mouse, many of their shows only have quick two minute synopses of the show. As of December 2006, NBC.com only has sixteen available shows that allow you to view full episodes. Many of the shows only have three to four episodes listed at a time, so if you missed an episode last month, NBC would like you to wait for the season to come out on DVD to see what you missed.
The NBC video player always begins with an advertisement before you can see the episode you requested. In all every episode is automatically paused five times to show the viewer advertisements. The player has three size settings, a small and medium sized screen which both have advertisements above and below the screen, and a full screen option which has a small advertisement below the screen. Although NBC now gives their viewers the ability to watch their shows legally online, they still refuse to post many of their episodes, leaving the viewers to go to other websites to illegally view them.
