The schedule given
below is tentative as far as week-by-week coverage is
concerned, but
firm with regard to dates and times. The location of the
meetings will
be room 101B of Science and Technology 1.
We will meet on Fridays, from 3 to 5 PM, beginning on June 22, and ending
on August 24. Students taking the course for
credit are expected to miss no more than one meeting, and to actively participate.
Some details of the coverage are given below. In order to better express the
length of each meeting's reading assignment, I counted some pages as "half
pages." The reading should go quickly, particularly for the first half of the book --- the pages are not dense with details and messy mathematics.
