Qualifying Exam on Applied Probability
The qualifying exam on applied probability is an open book exam --- you can use
whatever books and notes you bring with you. You can use a calculator (but not a
computer).
The exam covers material in the following parts of the book A First Course in Probability, 10th Ed.,
by Sheldon Ross:
- Chapters 1 through 8, excluding Sec. 2.6 and Sec. 6.8,
- Sec. 9.1,
- Chapter 10, through the end of subsection 10.2.1.
