Office Hours
On nights that we have class, I'll hold office hours
from 6:15 to 7:00 PM
in Room 25 of the
Central Module. (That room of the Central Module is the
university's Statistical Consulting Center, and I'll be there serving as
a consultant in the hour prior to my office hour for this class. I
think it makes good sense for me just to hold my STAT 657 office hour
there since there is a blackboard and more chairs and table space than I
have in my regular office.)
I'm also available after class from 10:00 to 10:30 PM,
but please let me know right after class
if you want to meet with me. If it's a quick question, then we can
discuss it right there in the classroom. But if you have a few questions
that might take a while to deal with, then it may make sense to go over to
Room 25 in the
Central Module or back to
Sci Tech 2 (where my regular office is).
Just be sure to let me know that you want to meet with me since if no one
requests a meeting I may go to the Johnson Center, or the library, or home.
I can possibly make an appointment to meet with you outside of my scheduled
office hours. Rather than ask me about this in person, it'll be much
better if you send me an e-mail request for an appointment (so that I
can carefully look at my calendar and consider my schedule before
suggesting or commiting to a particular appointment time).
Important note:
When dropping off late HW papers, or anything
else, be sure to take them to my regular office in
Science and Technology Building 2.
If possible, put late HW papers under my door (my office is room 153),
and otherwise, if you're locked out of the hallway on which my office is
located, slide your papers under the glass door to room 158, which is
the main office for my department. (Do not put papers under the glass
door in the little hallway that goes by the entrance to one of the
computing labs.) Whether you fax your paper, or leave it for me under
my office door, send me an e-mail indicating that you turned in your
paper late (with late meaning that you did not turn it in at the
classroom on the nominal due date).
