Office Hours
On nights that we have class, I'll hold office hours
from 6:15 to 7:00 PM in
Room 1707
(the consulting center room across the hall from my office)
of the
Nguyen Engineering Building.
Knock on my office door (Room 1706) to get my attention if you don't find me in 1707.
I'm also willing to hang around in the classroom and answer questions for 30 minutes
after class.
I can make an appointment to meet with you outside of my scheduled
office hours (but since it's sometimes hard to find time to meet about STAT 346
outside of my scheduled office time, I strongly advise you
to try to make use of my regular office hours).
Rather than ask me about this in person, it'll be much
better if you send me an e-mail request for an appointment (so that I
can carefully look at my calendar and consider my schedule before
suggesting or commiting to a particular appointment time).
Important note:
When dropping off late HW papers, early HW papers, or anything
else, try to put them under my office door in the
Nguyen Engineering Building (Room 1706).
Be sure to send me an e-mail indicating that you turned in your
paper late (with late meaning that you did not turn it in at the
classroom on the nominal due date). This is especially important if you
fax your paper, since while I am often in my office at
nights and on the weekend, I usually don't check the fax machine unless I'm expecting an arrival.
(Another important note: Between 11 PM and 6 AM, the Engineering Building is sometimes
locked (and one needs to use an ID card set up to unlock the doors to get in). So you may want to avoid
dropping off your late paper during these hours unless your ID card is set up to unlock the doors.
Of course the
best thing is to be efficient and turn your paper in during class.)
