The Telecommunication Laws in the U.S. Must Change! The Telecommunications Act of 1996 was signed into law by Democrat President Bill Clinton; I would say he is the best President the Republicans ever had, and we can already see Hillary Clinton may follow suit! The Telecommunications Act of 1996 was the first major change in a Telecommunications Law in 62 years; amending the Communications Act of 1934. This Act was intended to foster competition, but it did just the opposite. Instead it continued the media monopolization that started with President Reagan during his administration, reducing the number of media companies from 50 in 1986 to 10 in 1996, but it doesnt stop there! In 1996 there were 10 media companies still standing, and in 2005 there was merely 6 left. Roger Ailes, is the Chairman & CEO of the Fox News Network--and guess what? He was a media consultant for Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and of course George H. W. Bush. Ailes also served as a political consultant for many Republican candidates during the 1970s and 1980s. He was a consultant to Ronald Reagan in 1984. He is widely credited with having coached Reagan to victory in the second presidential debate with Walter Mondale. Ailes and Murdoch are key players in this Fascist movement and the Web seems to be the only forum to fight back! Democrat or Republican, agreeing or disagreeing with the Fox News Network is not the issue-- What the FOX News Network is doing goes against everthing a free and democratic press is founded upon. Stand up fight back. |
