GE's monopoly specializes in more than media outlets and light bulbs; nuclear weapons are another one of it's specialties. Pollution is another problem GE brings to humanity. In 1998, GE was ordered to pay $200 million in damages for its pollution of the Housatonic River in Massachusetts while testing nucleur weapons. In 2004 GE bought Vivendi's television and movie assets, becoming the third largest media conglomerate in the world. The new company was named NBC Universal.
