BIOL 402. Prerequisites: BIOL 213, 305, 306, CHEM 211, 212 or permission of the instructor.

This course studies microorganisms important in applied and industrial aspects. It includes sections on biofilm formation, biodeterioration, decompositon, preservation of products and control of microbial growth, fermentation technology, water and wastewater treatment, and useful applications of microorganisms to biodegradation, food and drug production.
