Therefore, most of the resources listed below deal with either a smaller or larger subset of the world's countries. All, however, contain useful information that supplements the material on the individual countries covered on other pages of this guide to resources in comparative politics.
The OECD is the leading research organization on the leading industrialized democracies. Its home page has some of its data in electronic form. Unfortunately, you will have to go to a library to get most of it....
The US National Endowment for Democracy provides some general material on democracy, but much of its emphasis is on democratization in the former communist countries and the third world.
Much the same is true for the Global Democratic Network
The Interparliamentary Union, not surprisingly, has links to legislative and related institutions around the world.
The University of Keele maintains a set of resources on elections.
Parliamentary Elections Around the World is a similar set of resources that emphasizes current and recent parliamentary elections.
Political Resources on the Net is a similar service that concentrates on political parties in general, not just elections.
The International Federation of Electoral Systems has material on the way elections are conducted and votes counted around the world.
Klipsan Press is the most comprehensive of several sources providing information on upcoming elections and results from others that have recently been held.
