Step 3: LO receives email/request on Handheld Computer
Promptly after prospect presses the “Send” button on data entry web page, LO receives
request directly to his handheld computer/Cell phone. The LO is alerted of incoming
email automatically by using “Push Technology”, which means that he is alerted of
incoming emails anytime, anywhere, at least within the wireless coverage area determined
by cell phone carrier. For instance, the Blackberry 7100t, a popular wireless handheld
computer and cell phone, will have access to e-mail and the Web as long as the device is
within T-Mobile’s coverage area. “Basically, the data is forwarded through T-Mobile’s
high-speed GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) wireless network". GPRS is a packet-based
wireless communication technology that sends data at rates up to 114 Kbps and provides
continuous connection to the Internet to wireless phone and mobile computers.
Step 4: LO searches online for best Mortgage Product/Rate:
Having received the request for information on real time, the LO now conducts search,
also on real time. By using his Handheld computer/cell phone he can now search the web
for a product. The technology behind this step is broken down into two parts: First,
accessing the Internet, and Second, searching for Loan program and rates through an intranet
and by using a mortgage origination software.
