Once again starting from the first couple “introduction” hypertext pages I stopped on “These fragments aren't insured against my ruin.” Picking the link Coming Together I noticed that it was a story of man and a woman having un-pleasurable sex, playing on that the man who could not satisfy the woman. “The same old answer to all her troubles. Maybe this time should have been different, but it wasn't.” Later I would notice Coming Together referred to the act of climaxing and that on the same page there was a Coming Apart link. From the Coming Together link, the Same Old Answer link was chosen, because it was in fact the same old answer to that woman's sexual predicament. Here we have a sexually active woman saying “I came like the San Andreas and the two guys fell over flat.” Once again, sex that is one sided. The “Where you're going there are no maps” page eventually leads to this same story with first clicking Lives in Flight, mentioning what is interpretted as a male counterpart leaving after sex, like many men do. “He was there and he was gone, retaining his mystery.” The Mystery link, chosen because of same word usage once again leads to “San Andreas” story. When “This restless change of place for place: our bodiless hegira” appears on the screen I chose the On the Road link, due to the fact hegira means to run away, and that people run on roads, “The work can be read in linear fashion (the missionary position of reading).” Missionary position needs no explanation. The “As in a dream” page has a link entitled Poet, lover, fool that will be most likely picked due to the already sexual vibe the reader is getting from navigating through the Hegirascope. Here a man says “Diaphanous dependencies of the peignoir” alluding to the fact that his wife's nightgown, or peignoir is see through which certainly draws a vivid picture. She also says that her husband is incorrect, which leads the influenced reader to click on the Incorrect link, which leads to the linear missionary statement. Once again because I was influenced by mood and music, I was led to believe I was reading hypertexts of enlightened sex stories even though that may not be the case.
