Summary

Cloud computing is impacting how the world works. It is changing how business is conducted, how services are offered, and what services are offered. “As its name suggests, this kind of platform lets developers write applications that run in the cloud, or use services provided from the cloud, or both” (Chappell). There are three major forms of cloud computing in use today, utility computing, platform as a service (PaaS), and cloud-based applications. Each of those components can be used differently.

Cloud computing affects our environment, our society, and our intellectual property. It changes how we do business.
