Room: The grade for the course will be based on averaging
the scores from the final exam and the top 2 exams scores of the other 3 exams.
All students must take the final exam. Exams
must be taken at the scheduled time.
Because the grade is based on the three highest exam scores, absolutely no makeup exams will be
given. If
an exam date is cancelled for any unforeseen reason (ie.
weather), the exam will be given in the next class period. Note that the final exam starts at 10:30 am not at noon. EXAM
FORMAT: Exams may include fill in the blank, multiple choice, true/
false, and matching questions as well as essay questions and problems. GRADING
SCALE: 90-100% A In
addition, grades of + or - may be used at the discretion of the instructor The Honor Code is an integral part of university life,
and will be vigorously adhered to in this course. On the application for
admission, students sign a statement agreeing to conform to and uphold the
Honor Code. Therefore, students are responsible for understanding the provisions of the Code. If you do not recall
the provisions of this Code, review them now,(pages
30-31 of the GMU University Catalog -2006-2007.) Recall
that when you agreed to abide by this Honor Code, you have not only promised to
be honorable yourself, but have also agreed to report all alleged violations of
the Honor Code to the Honor Committee. Any student who has knowledge of,
but does not report, an Honor Code violation may be accused of lying under the
Honor Code.
This
is a 3 credit lecture course designed for students who are planning on a career
in any health related field, or who simply have an interest in how the human
body functions. Physiology integrates information and applies principles that
students have learned in biology, chemistry and physics to understand the
function of the human body. Material is organized by organ system and will
cover the function of endocrine, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary and digestive systems.
