GRADING POLICY
Four equally weighted exams will be given in this course.

The grade for the course will be based on averaging the scores from the final exam and the top 2 exams scores of the other 3 exams. All students must take the final exam.

Exams must be taken at the scheduled time.  Because the grade is based on the three highest exam scores, absolutely no makeup exams will be given.

If an exam date is cancelled for any unforeseen reason (ie. weather), the exam will be given in the next class period. Note that the final exam starts at 10:30 am not at noon.

EXAM FORMAT:  Exams may include fill in the blank, multiple choice, true/ false, and matching questions as well as essay questions and problems.

GRADING SCALE:   90-100%  A
                                     80- 89%   B
                                     70- 79%   C
                                     60- 69%   D
                                         < 60%   F

In addition, grades of + or - may be used at the discretion of the instructor

HONOR CODE

The  Honor Code is an integral part of university life, and will be vigorously adhered to in this course.  On the application for admission, students sign a statement agreeing to conform to and uphold the Honor Code. Therefore, students are responsible for understanding the  provisions of the Code.  If you do not recall the provisions of this Code, review them now,(pages 30-31 of the GMU University Catalog -2006-2007.)

Recall that when you agreed to abide by this Honor Code, you have not only promised to be honorable yourself, but have also agreed to report all alleged violations of the Honor Code to the Honor Committee.  Any student who has knowledge of, but does not report, an Honor Code violation may be accused of lying under the Honor Code.
