What follows is a fairytale that was inspired by interviews done with five randomly choosen students in English 344.  The anonymous transcripts of the interviews are provided below and should be viewed before entering the fairytale. The characters, plot, and events are based on the interviews that were conducted and will only make sense after the transcripts are viewed.

This project was inspired by the process of writing an ethnography, however the process for doing so has been reversed. The questions asked in the interviews were formed to elicit a stereotypical response and stereotypical characters were formed from the answers. The storyline follows that of a typical fairytale with modern aspects that have been taken from the transcripts.

To view the story click on "Enter the Fairytale". As the narrative progresses, part is told in text form and part in video form. When prompted to make a choice as to "What happens next?" the reader is in charge of choosing where the story will go.

If you are not satisfied with a certain ending, start over and take a different path. The goal is to find the most satisfying ending to the story, which in a fairytale is of course, the one in which all the characters live...
