Photoshop CS2 Image Assignment

The final steps....

Moving on to the colouring and vignette elements of the assignment, again I had to create layers to work with. I magnified the image to 300% so I could see what I was doing and then used the lasso tool to outline the horse's head and neck. Then I chose "fill" and a nice rich brown colour that I figured would be natural for him and Ta Da! he turned brown. The next challenge i had was to create a vignette with Alix, so I went to the Eismann book for this final task.... alixcoloured

Alix's vignette was pretty easy using Eisemann's step by step instructions on pages 188-190. First,I used the ellipse to highlight where I wanted the vignette to appear. The, I pressed Q for the quick mask, then filter:guassian blur, and then typed in a number;I think I used 15.5.

Then I added some noise (.50) to it so it wouldn't have what Eisemann calls banding...and finally cropped it for the final look. I think he looks quite handome.....although I have to admit the vignette is much more visible in photoshop before I uploaded it onto the page....and the background looked pink too...but it doesn't look that way here....any ideas as to why????

Lord knows you could spend a lifetime with these photos tweeking and saving and tweeking some more...the biggest problem I had was viewing the pages in IE! Good thing I had Firefox to preview them in or I might have just given up.
