Disorientation

Another question that is asked is if without disorientation, an interactive fiction is even possible?

In my opinion, every word and every line of "firefly" leads to another meaning of the work.

At one point the poem can  say
"Slowly I slip into
 upcoming twilight
undending strands of rain
in unutterable silence
of fog and green light."

BUT if you click the first line, it can change to:

"The grass embraces
upcoming twilight
undending strands of rain
in unutterable silence
of fog and green light."

IF you click on the bottom right hand corner, it can change the whole thing to

"The grass embraces
the weight of my knees
wet blades draw me in
evening dew licks me
in a lion-light embrace."

This, to me, as the reader, shows that the disorientaton is what makes it an INTERACTIVE piece of fiction and without the interaction or disorientation, it would not be possible.  Other thing essential to this piece or any piece is the structure.
