Ashlee Burns says

Blogs have more of peoples opinions rather than just the straight facts. This lets others  state their opinions or add to the story which can be good and bad.  I've seen blogs start with one toppic and soon end in another.   All it takes is one person to go off topic and the next thing you know the entire topic is changed in to something else.  Also blogs can be a hassle to read through.

So in a way blogs can be too open ended where as websites like CNN will have accurate information. But often it can be a one sided view of the news reporter or crew who put the article together.  These websites (the mainstream news sites) will tend to have more facts but just because they are on well known sites, the facts aren't questioned as much.
