How to Make an Eiskaffee (Creamy Iced Coffee)
Eiskaffee means "ice-cream coffee" in German. While you probably already know how to Make Iced Coffee with plain ice cubes, here is a tasty traditional European recipe incorporating ice cream. An eiskaffee is simple to make.
Ingredients
1 1/2 quarts strong instant coffee
2 scoops of ice cream
Whipped cream
Chocolate chips or krokant [1]
Steps
1. Make a pot of strong instant coffee.
2. Allow to cool at room temperature then let it cool more in the refrigerator.
3. Scoop two scoops of ice cream into a tall glass.
4. Pour the cooled coffee to a tall glass leaving 1 centimeter (.4 inches) of empty space to the rim. ,/p>
5. Top with whipped cream.
6. Sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles or krokant [2].
Tips
For best result, extra strong instant coffee should be used.
Serve on a hot day as a cool afternoon pickup, with cookies or cake.
Warnings
Use decaffeinated coffee for those who cannot tolerate caffeine.
Do not put a hot coffee pot directly into the refrigerator, the glass may crack, spilling coffee inside your refrigerator.
