Reporting Online Predators

There are websites and phone numbers that parents should be familiar with in case they suspect that their children have come in contact with an online predator.

-The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children encourages for anyone who has had a predator sighting to contact their Call Center. They have operators available 24-hours a day via telephone or the Internet.

                -Toll Free Hotline 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678)
-The Push To Talk System available on the center's website allows users to use their Internet connection to                   report a sighting. This works especially if your computer is equipped with speakers and a microphone.
-Report child sexual abuse to The National Center for the Prosecution of Child Sexual Abuse at                                      703-549-4253.

-Obscenitycrimes.org is a resource for educating the public and for reporting possible violations of internet obscenity laws. The site offers a complaint form for adults to request investigation on a website. The information provided will normally be forwarded to federal prosecutors unless their complaint does not contain adequate information.

-Another tip would be to contact the local police who should be able to direct you to the correct number for a report.
