Online Predators in the News

Internet Predator Saul Dos Reis was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the crimes of first-degree manslaughter and second-degree sexual assault. Dos Reis, a 25 year old man from Greenwich Connecticut pled guilty last March for the death of Christina A. Long, a 13-year old girl from Danbury, Connecticut who he had met online.


Besides Dateline NBC, other popular television shows such as America's Most Wanted have featured online predator stings that have sucessfully put them away. Some of these predators are:


    Gary Kerpen who was known to police as "The Phantom." Gary was apprehended in a New York sting.

    Robert Accomando was also apprehended during the New York sting.

    Lawrence Carulli was apprehended after he allegedly drove 2 1/2 hours to meet a 14-year old girl named "Jen" in Suffolk County, New Jersey.

    Ronald Stahl, a seemingly upstanding citizen and a volunteer firefighter, was arrested for soliciting to someone he believed to be a young teen online.
