This is when I first bought him. He was 5 months old and wouldn't even let me come up to him.

Astrid as a yearling (one year old), walking around the pasture with his fly mask on.

Posing for the camera after a lunge session.

Our first show. Astrid was a yearling. We showed in Halter and Showmanship.

Another show, this time for trail in hand. Obviously, VERY casual.
Astrid's color is called a Buckskin. Astrid has true markings of a Buckskin;
four black stockings (legs), black mane and tail. There should be one white
spot somewhere in the mane (Astrid has one right at his withers) and black accents
around the ears, eyes and muzzle. The buckskin does not have a black dorsal stripe that the dun color does.

Astrid "crossing over." I taught him how to do this skill on my own.
Crossing over is an essential skill for showing a horse in any trail class.

This is my favorite picture of Astrid. I was hosing him down after a long work-out.
I happened to catch his attention and I love the way it turned out.

A quick lunge session before the first time I would get on Astrid. This was a big day!

The first time that I rode Astrid. He was a little over 2 years old.

This was a horse I leased for awhile so that I could actually ride in shows while Astrid
was growing. His name was a Glass Eyed Fox (he had one blue eye and one brown) and if I could,
I would have bought him. I won many ribbons and trophies with this horse.

Happy Trails!!
