Devil dogs. Leathernecks. The first to fight. Jarheads.
Whatever you call them, they are the few and the proud.
But the path to becoming a United States Marine is difficult. Once enlisted, the recruits are loaded up into a bus and taken to either Parris Island, SC or Camp Pendleton in San Diego. There, the recruits are broken down physically, mentally and emotionally until they become strong and form a brotherhood.
Each Marine is trained to be the very best. Ask any of them.
Both Sergeant Colin Brown and Staff Sergeant Ed Knight said if they were going into the military, it might as well be with the best.
And these Marines each owe it to one group of people.
