WHAT WE’LL DO IN CLASS

1) Discuss Classical poetics and the concept of "classicism," if we didn't get to it last week.

2) Discuss major points of the reading by analyzing structure & closure in some poems using Herrnstein Smith’s terms

3) Discuss lyric, dramatic, epic, satirical & narrative poetry, and sub-genres (or kinds) including elegy, pastoral, aubade, etc.
