Long ago, in a kingdom faraway, there lived a girl servant to her stepmother and stepsisters. During the day her duties included to scrub floors, wash dishes, and cook meals. At night, she had to massage her stepsisters’ feet, do their nails, and make them beautiful dresses. In the meantime, her clothes were tattered and her face was smudged with cinders.
