American Sociological Association –
The American Sociological Association is a membership association dedicated
to advancing sociology as a scientific discipline and profession serving the
public good. Council on Contemporary Families
- Founded in 1996, with a membership consisting of national noted family
researchers, mental health and social work practitioners, and clinicians, the
Council on Contemporary Families (CCF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated
to enhancing the national conversation about what contemporary families need
and how these needs can best be met. Eastern Sociological Society - Founded in 1930, the
Eastern Sociological Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to
promoting excellence in sociological scholarship and instruction. The ESS sponsors a professional journal (Sociological
Forum), a four-day Annual Meeting in the spring, a newsletter,
numerous award competitions, an employment service, and a mailing list. National Council on Family Relations - The
National Council on Family Relations provides a forum for family researchers,
educators, and practitioners to share in the development and dissemination of
knowledge about families and family relationships, establishes professional
standards, and works to promote family well-being. Society for the Study of Social Problems -
The Society for the Study of Social Problems promotes research on and serious
examination of problems of social life. The SSSP works to solve these
problems and to develop informed social policy. Sociologists for Women in Society -
Sociologists for Women in Society is an international organization of social
scientists--students, faculty, practitioners, and researchers--working
together to improve the position of women within sociology and society in

– South - SWS-SOUTH
is a regional organization serving the same purposes as, and in liaison with,
the national SWS. We hold meetings
annually in conjunction with the Southern Sociological Society (SSS) Southern Sociological Society -
The Southern Sociological Society is a society of professionals that promotes
the development of sociology as a profession and scientific discipline by the
maintenance of high academic professional and ethical standards, and by
encouraging effective teaching of sociology, valid and reliable methods and
