Project Diversity

Reversing the trend of declining numbers of teachers of color entering the field of education is a national concern that must not be ignored by uninformed citizens who think the trend will simply correct itself without the concerted attention and the collaborative efforts of our society. Dr. Fox spearheaded Project Diversity for five years. Its goal was to form partnerships for improving the education of students in the public schools of Northern Virginia by establishing a system of early identification, recruitment, financial and academic support which will bring the percentage of multi-ethnic teachers trained at GMU into alignment with the enrollment of the university and the public schools.
