Consultation Services
The Center for Psychological Services (formerly the Psychological Clinic) at George Mason University offers
a variety of consultation services to members of the Mason community as
well as to individuals in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Consultations are primarily provided by clinical psychology and school psychology
graduate students under the supervision of appropriately credentialed
doctoral level professionals. Residents in clinical psychology who
have completed a doctorate but are not yet licensed, are also
available for consultations for a set fee. Services by a resident
are provided under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist.
The total fee for service depends upon the
type of consultation service being provided and the duration of the
service. Most consultations require two direct service appointment
times, including a feedback appointment, and at least one hour of time for
report writing. The hourly fee for most consultation services is set, but
financial assistance is available for clients who demonstrate need and who
request services by a graduate student.
Please be aware that there is currently a waiting list for most
consultation services (September, 2006).
For information or an appointment, please contact the
Intake Office at (703) 993-1370.
