Making PowerPoint Presentations & Pronunciation Review
For your first formal class presentation, the Genre X presentation, you need make a PowerPoint presentation. Some of you may already know how to use PowerPoint, but others of you do not. If you do not know how to use PowerPoint, today's lesson will teach you the basics.
You will work with a partner to make a short PowerPoint presentation by the end of class today. The topic that you need to present in today's PowerPoint presentation is a review of the pronunciation skills we have covered thus far in the semester (chapter 3 in Targeting Pronunciation).
You and your partner will show me your presentation before you leave class. Here are specific things I am looking for in your presentation (13 points possible):
- Begins with an introduction slide
- Your names
- Topic of presentation
- Class title
- Presentation date
- Body Slides -- one main idea per slide
- limited text on slide --> phrases, not sentences
- use indentations to show subordination
- Ends with a concluding slide
- presents the most significant idea that "results" from
other slides
- 10 slides maximum -- 5 slides minimum
- You explain the 5 key word pronunciation skills we covered in class last week.
