Chris Atwood and Alex Bianco--questions on Gabriel Over the White House

  1. Does the director of the film want the viewer to see the president in a positive or negative light, because he breaks the constitutional law, nearly becoming a dictator, but he does it for the purpose of helping the people. Why or why not?
  2. How the viewer's perception of the president change between the time that he comes out of his coma, looking very sincerely changed, and keenly intent on helping the people, and the end when the viewer sees the means that the president used to achieve his goals?
  3. Why does the director leave so much mystery in the "visitation by Gabriel." Is it possible that by leaving it to the imagination, it shows things that would not have been possible with the cinimatic effects availabel to the film makers at the time? Why or why not?
  4. How is the introduction of the character of "Pendie" similar to the introduction of Poppy in Scarface?
  5. Are the actions of the president throughout the movie constent with democratic principals?
