Grading: The lab grade will be based on a possible total of 100 points (out of a possible total of 400 points for the course). A lab write-up, worth 7.5 points, will be submitted for each lab exercise. The overall current issue project will be worth 10 points.

Attendance: Attendance is required at all labs. If you are unable to attend lab due to unavoidable circumstances (illness, accident, etc.), contact your instructor as soon as possible. If you do not contact your instructor within 2 days of the missed lab, it will be assumed that your absence was unexcused and you will get a zero for that lab. Lab write-ups will not be accepted for unexcused missed labs.

Lab Manual: Lab manuals will be available for purchase approximately two weeks into the semester. Copies of individual lab exercises will be provided until lab manuals become available. Each exercise will consist of several pages describing the exercise and several page "lab write-up" pages that should be turned in. Remove and turn in the lab exercise write-up pages but keep the lab exercise description pages. Material presented in the lab exercise description pages may be included on lecture exams.

Lab Write-Ups: Lab write-ups for each lab exercise are due at the beginning of the following lab period. Late lab write-ups will be penalized at the rate of 1 point (out of 7.5 possible) per week late. Instructors will make every effort to return lab write-ups the next lab period.

Current Issues Posters and Presentations: Each student will select a current issue topic (from a list provided by the instructor) about which he/she will prepare a Powerpoint presentation, deliver the presentation (orally) and summarize classmates' presentations. Guidelines on this project will be distributed in a separate handout.
