I.  Evaluation Criteria

II. Instructions
 1.  Introduction
     a. introduce yourselves, topic & how you’ve organized the report
     b. explain your topic; reasons you chose it; why is it important?
     c. generate interest, catch our attention
     d. how many people did you interview?  Who were they?
     e.  where did you find them?

2.  Your topic:questions/expectations
     a.  what were your main ideas about the topic?
     b.  which question was most interesting?
     c.  did the results coincide with your expectations?

3.  Your findings (i.e. use visual aids to illustrate this; pie charts or graphs )
     a.  in general
     b.  analysis of findings (for each question or each main idea)
     c.  any surprises?
 

4.  Your evaluation
     a.  in general – did you enjoy this assignment – why or why not?
     b.  what would you do differently next time?
     c.  did you learn any new words, idioms or slang?
              if so, what – teach us one new word /phrase

5.  Conclusion
     a.  make a definite conclusion to your talk – don’t just stop.
     b.  repeat your main findings; summarize your experience
     c.  conclude with a quote, a phrase or an observation.

REMEMBER:

1.  Tell us, do not read to us!
2.  Look at the whole audience – not just one person or the wall!
3.  Keep eye contact as much as possible with audience.
4.  Be enthusiastic!
5. PRACTICE; PRACTICE; PRACTICE – actually speak to a wall or friends
6.  ASK how to pronounce words you are uncertain of.
7.  Total time:  7-8 minutes @; 15 –18 minutes total.
8.  Postponed presentation:  penalty:  10 points (1 grade)
