interview process. The format: a general overview, two role play scenarios (one
good and one bad), and one-on-one mock interviews. Some of the highlights follow:
- When
preparing for the interview, become familiar with the industry through newspapers,
magazines, market research reports and alumni; know the employer through the web
site, brochures, alumni, career counselors, and faculty; and become familiar with
the interview process through gathering relevant information, attending information
sessions, and talking to employers and alumni.
- Also discussed the screening
interview (about 20 minutes), the behavioral interview (about 45 minutes) and
the office visit (daylong event); questions from candidates; what to take; and
the interview follow-up.
- The representatives put on a good and bad mock
interview, then discussed the strong and weak points with students. This was followed
by one-on-one mock interviews and resume review.
- Announced that there
will be another Andersen Information Session on October 17th at 4:30
p.m. in SUB II Rooms 4, 5 & 6.
