Module 4: The Critical Thinking Strategies

In this module you will develop the ability to promote critical thinking strategies in moderated online environments.

Checklist:

• Post thoughts in the Cyberbuck's Cafe forum.

• Readings: Chapter 7

• Go to the Discussion Board and click on Book Club 4 to participate in a discussion moderated by an expert facilitator about the readings.

• Facilitator 4 begins A Moderator's Guide discussion. Through discussion the group will build part 1 of A Moderator's Guide, to include guidelines and tips to promote critical thinking strategies. Facilitator 4 posts a draft to the discussion board. Revision by the group is discussed. Final product is posted with a discussion summary by the Facilitator.

• From the Communications link, the Facilitator emails part 1 of product to the mentor.

• Feedback on product will be given by mentor to each group member via email.

• Facilitator emails a reflection about the moderating experience to the mentor.

• Join a synchronous chat event in TappedIn and send an analysis of the discussion and moderator techniques, with reference to ideas learned so far from the course.

• Send a reflection on the synchronous chat experience to the mentor via email.

• Respond to all emails from the mentor.
